Harold Edgerton

Harold Edgerton is also a very greatly known photographer for high speed photography. But he also does other amazing still life photography. I found his close-up still life shots were amazing as they show what we miss as humans. Therefore I have been trying to capture many close-up shots of amazing subjects.

For example I have taken many pictures of the animals at Twycross Zoo. The outcome is brilliant as I had taken 10 stunning images of the features and shapes or colours of the animals quite close-up whereas the crowds would only get a glimpse.

Jan Groover

I have researched upon a photographer called Jan Groover. She is one of the most highly recognised still life photographers. In this video it shows how she manually edited her images using lightroom techniques. I am not fully focussing upon this but the types of images she produces are ones that interest me.

For example at the end of this video it shows how black and white and even sepia images can be very effective with texture, detail and especially depth of field.
